Azerbaijan's economy experienced a 0.9% year-on-year growth from January to April 2025, showing an improvement from the 0.3% growth noted in the first quarter. However, this growth was significantly less robust compared to the 4.3% increase seen during the same period in 2024. The non-oil and gas sector demonstrated a 3.3% growth year-on-year, while the oil and gas sector saw a 3.5% contraction. From a production standpoint, the primary contributors to the GDP included industry, which accounted for 37.3% of GDP, followed by the trade and vehicle repair sector at 9.9%, transportation and storage at 7%, and construction comprising 5.9%.
