In April 2025, Finland's annual inflation rate maintained a steady position at 0.5% for the second consecutive month, marking the lowest level since December 2020. Several sectors experienced upward pricing pressures, specifically in food and non-alcoholic beverages where rates were at 2.3% compared to 2.6% in March. Similarly, alcoholic beverages and tobacco saw a rise of 4.3% against the previous 4.6%. The cost of furnishings and household maintenance edged up to 1.3% from 0.7%, while health sector expenses increased to 8.1% from 7.5%. Communication costs eased to 2.6% from 3.9%, whereas recreation and culture costs grew to 2.1% from 1.1%. Education costs moderated slightly to 2.6% from 2.9%, and the restaurant and hotel sector recorded a slight rise to 1.7% from 1.6%. In contrast, clothing and footwear prices declined marginally to -0.2% from 0.3%, housing prices fell more significantly to -2.6% from -2.0%, transport prices continued to drop to -0.2% from -1.0%, and miscellaneous goods and services saw a minor decrease to -0.3% from -0.2%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices showed negligible change, recording a slight decline of 0.02% after a 0.04% decrease in March.
