US Crude Oil Inventories Unexpectedly Rise: EIA

U.S. crude oil inventories saw an increase of 3.454 million barrels during the week ending May 9, 2025, contrary to the market's forecast of a 1 million barrel reduction, as reported by the EIA Petroleum Status Report. Contrastingly, the Cushing, Oklahoma delivery hub experienced a decrease of 1.069 million barrels. In terms of refined fuels, gasoline stocks decreased by 1.022 million barrels, while distillate fuel inventories saw a decline of 3.155 million barrels.
