The unemployment rate in Estonia has risen to 8.6% in Q1 2025, up from 7.8% during the same quarter last year, reaching its highest level since Q4 2013. The number of unemployed individuals increased by 5,300 from the previous year, reaching a twelve-year high of 64,200. Among these, the unemployment rate for men was 9%, while for women, it was 8.2%. Furthermore, the employment rate decreased to 67.4% from 68.4%, as the number of employed individuals fell by 11,700 to 681,600, marking its lowest point in eighteen months. Additionally, the labor force participation rate declined to 73.7% from 74.2%.
