Producer output prices in New Zealand experienced a significant rise of 2.1% in the first quarter of 2025, compared to the previous quarter's 0.1% decline. This marks the most robust increase since Q2 2022. The overall price increase was driven by widespread growth across various sectors, notably within electricity, gas, water, and waste services, which saw a substantial rise of 26.2%. Notable increases were also observed in the manufacturing sector, which rose by 2.3%, and in the rental, hiring, and real estate services sector, with a growth of 1.4%.
