In April 2025, Finland's unemployment rate rose to 10%, up from 9.2% in the same month the previous year. The number of unemployed individuals increased by 25,000 compared to the previous year, reaching a total of 288,000. Simultaneously, the number of those employed saw a slight rise of 2,000, totaling 2.59 million. Notably, the unemployment rate among the 15-24 age group increased to 27.2%, marking a 2.5 percentage point rise from the previous year. Meanwhile, the labor force participation rate for people aged 15 to 74 saw a slight increase, rising to 69.1% from 68.7% a year prior. However, the employment rate for those aged 20 to 64 experienced a minor decline, dropping to 76.2% from 76.3%.
