In the first quarter of 2025, Mexico's GDP grew by 0.2% compared to the previous quarter. This performance marks an improvement from the 0.6% decline seen in the prior period and aligns with the preliminary estimate, surpassing the earlier market prediction of no growth. The primary driver of this expansion was a significant 7.8% increase in the output of primary activities, building on the 6.7% growth observed in the previous quarter. However, minor declines were recorded in both the industrial sector, which shrank by 0.1% compared to a 1.3% decrease in the fourth quarter of 2024, and the services sector, which also fell by 0.1% after a 1.1% increase. Year-on-year, the Mexican GDP rose by 0.8% in this quarter.
