In March 2025, retail sales in Argentina saw a significant year-on-year increase of 86.7% at current prices, up from an 80.7% growth recorded in February. Certain retail sectors experienced accelerated sales growth, notably bookstores and stationery stores, which rose by 68.6% compared to 61.9% in February. Food courts and restaurants also saw substantial growth at 92%, up from 81.2% the previous month. The clothing, footwear, and leather goods sector experienced a 78.3% rise, improving from a 67.1% increase, while toy sales soared by 112.5%, significantly higher than the 84.2% recorded in February. Conversely, sectors such as electronics and IT witnessed a deceleration, growing by 137.7% compared to the previous rate of 151.8%. Similarly, pharmacies and perfumes increased by 70.4% versus the prior 83.1%, and leisure and recreation advanced by 71.9%, down from 86%. When assessing the figures in constant prices, retail sales climbed by 26.8% compared to the same period the previous year, reflecting an acceleration from a 15% rise in February.
