FX.co ★ Sweden Producer Prices Drop for 2nd Month

In April 2025, Sweden experienced a 2.4% decline in producer prices compared to the same month the previous year. This follows a 0.3% reduction in March, marking the second straight month of declining producer prices and the steepest drop since December 2023. This downward trend was primarily driven by a substantial decrease in prices for energy-related products, which fell by 13.4%, compared to an 8.6% reduction in March. There were also price reductions in intermediate goods, which declined by 1.2% after a previous increase of 1.2%, and in capital goods, which fell by 1% following a 0.3% increase. Moreover, inflation rates for consumer goods moderated slightly, at 1.8%, down from 1.9% in March. When energy-related products are excluded, producer prices fell by 0.6%, reversing the 1.1% rise observed in the prior month. On a month-to-month basis, the Producer Price Index (PPI) fell by 1.6% in April, following a more significant 3% decline in the previous month.
