In the first half of May 2025, Brazil's Broad Consumer Price Index experienced a rise of 0.36%. This marked a deceleration from the 0.64% increase observed in the first half of the previous month and came in under market predictions of a 0.44% rise. This growth represents the smallest increase since January, influenced by monthly deflation in the transportation sector (-0.29%) and household goods sector (-0.07%). Conversely, the most substantial increases were recorded in clothing (+0.92%) and health and personal care (+0.91%). Year-on-year inflation climbed to 5.40%, falling short of the 5.49% noted in the preceding period.
