In April 2025, the annual growth rate of lending to Swedish households increased to 2.3%, up from 2.1% in March, reaching its highest point since March 2023. Housing loans, which constitute 83% of total household lending, experienced a slight year-over-year increase to 2% in April, compared to 1.9% in the preceding month. Additionally, consumption loans, representing 6% of total household lending, grew at an annual rate of 4.9%, up from 4.4% in March. The average interest rate for new mortgage agreements was 3.13% in April, while the average floating rate was 3.15%. Lending to non-financial corporations also saw growth, with the annual rate increasing 1.5% in April 2025, marking the third consecutive month of positive growth.
