In April 2025, the total value of outstanding loans in Brazil increased by 0.7% to reach R$6.6 trillion, following a 0.6% rise in the preceding month. This marks the sixteenth consecutive month of growth in the outstanding credit stock. The growth was primarily fueled by a 0.8% increase in credit offerings to families and a 0.5% rise in credit extended to businesses. Over a twelve-month period, credit expansion accelerated to 11.5%, compared to 11.1% in the previous month. This acceleration was driven by increased transactions directed towards households, which grew by 12.4% compared to 12.5% previously, and companies, which saw a growth of 10.2% against the prior 8.8%.
