Italian Stocks on Track for Strong Monthly Rise

In early trading on Friday, the FTSE MIB edged up by 0.3%, crossing the 40,100 mark, as it looked set to achieve a substantial monthly increase exceeding 6% and a weekly rise over 1%, after a tumultuous week. Investor attention remained on the unfolding court proceedings concerning President Donald Trump's "Liberation Day" tariffs, especially after a federal appeals court temporarily upheld his tariff policies, preventing them from being largely overturned. On the corporate front, Snam, the Italian gas grid operator, announced on Thursday its initiation of an accelerated book-building process to divest up to 83.6 million of the total 109 million option rights associated with Italgas' capital increase. Snam’s stock saw a rise of 0.8%, while Italgas experienced a gain of 1.2%. In terms of other stock movements, notable increases were observed in A2A (1.9%), Davide Campari-Milano (1.8%), Tenaris (1.6%), and Hera (1.3%).
