Rwanda Producer Inflation at 3-Month Low

In April 2025, Rwanda experienced a 2.4% year-on-year increase in producer prices, showing a decline from the 4.2% surge recorded in the previous month. This trend marks the fifth consecutive rise in producer inflation, although it is the softest rate since January. A notable slowdown was observed in manufacturing prices, which increased by 2.9% compared to 5.1% in March, while the rates for mining and quarrying remained constant at 1.1%. Additionally, there was no change in the prices for electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply activities. On a monthly scale, producer prices dropped by 1.9% in April, following a 0.6% decrease in March, representing the third straight month of decline and the sharpest reduction in 10 months.
