In April 2025, Indonesia experienced a substantial year-on-year increase of 9.15% in foreign tourist arrivals, reaching an eight-month peak of 1.16 million visitors. For the first four months of 2025, total arrivals stood at 4.33 million, marking a 5.60% rise compared to the same timeframe in 2024. The Indonesian government has set a target of attracting between 14 to 16 million international tourists by the end of 2025. In the previous year, 2024, arrivals surged by 19.05% to 13.90 million, the highest level recorded since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, aligning with the government's anticipated range of 9.5 to 14.3 million visitors. This growth has been driven by enhancements in aviation infrastructure and the development of new tourist destinations.
