The number of job quits in the United States decreased by 150,000, reaching a four-month low of 3.194 million in April 2025. This follows an upward revision to 3.344 million in March, and a comparison to 3.414 million from the same period a year prior. The quits rate, reflecting the percentage of individuals voluntarily leaving their jobs as part of total employment, slightly declined to 2% from the previous month's 2.1%. The most significant reductions in job quits were observed in the trade, transportation, and utilities sectors (-123,000), as well as in professional and business services (-29,000). Examining regional trends, job quits fell in the South (-105,000), the Midwest (-40,000), and the Northeast (-17,000), while an increase was noted in the West (+13,000).
