US Stocks Rise

On Tuesday, both the S&P 500 and the Dow Jones experienced a 0.4% increase, recovering after a tepid start. The Nasdaq, meanwhile, surpassed these indices with a rise of approximately 0.8%. This positive investor sentiment was bolstered by a surprisingly robust JOLTS report, which highlighted the enduring strength of the US labor market. Notably, job openings increased unexpectedly by 191,000, reaching 7.391 million, a clear indication of sustained strong demand for labor. Nevertheless, this optimism was slightly dampened by factory orders that fell more than analysts had predicted. Earlier in the day, market outlooks had been negatively influenced by the OECD's adjustment of global growth forecasts downward. In addition, traders kept a close watch on potential shifts in US–China trade relations, with Presidents Trump and Xi anticipated to converse later this week. The energy and technology sectors were among the top performers, whereas real estate showed weaker results. Major stocks also showed positive movement, with Nvidia advancing about 3% and Tesla increasing by roughly 2%.
