In the first quarter of 2025, the Czech Republic experienced a year-on-year rise of 3.9% in average real monthly wages, slightly decelerating from a 4.2% increase in the prior quarter and falling short of market expectations of a 4.0% uptick. This period marked the fifth successive quarter of real wage growth, although at the lowest rate observed in this sequence. The average gross monthly nominal wage within the national economy reached CZK 46,924, reflecting a 6.7% rise from the same quarter in 2024, albeit slightly down from the previous quarter's 7.2% growth. On a quarter-to-quarter basis, seasonally adjusted average wages increased by 1.7%. The most significant wage increases were recorded in the real estate sector (12.4%), professional and technical activities (10.9%), and construction (10.3%). In contrast, the mining sector (3.1%) and the supply of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning (3.3%) experienced the most modest growth.
