In May 2025, Armenia experienced a rise in its annual inflation rate to 4.3%, up from 3.2% the previous month. This increase represents the highest rate since March 2023. The acceleration in prices was prominently observed in the categories of food and non-alcoholic beverages, with an increase to 7.4% from 5.2% in April. Housing and utilities saw a rise to 1.4% from 0.9%, and prices in restaurants and hotels climbed to 2.4% from 1.5%. Conversely, inflation rates for alcoholic beverages and tobacco decreased slightly to 5.8% from 6.1%, and for recreation and culture, it eased to 0.6% from 1.6%. The transport category maintained a steady inflation rate at 4.2%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices experienced a 0.3% increase in May, compared to a 0.5% rise in the previous period.
