In May, Norway's house prices remained steady, showing no change from the previous month, after a 0.2% dip in April. Despite this stagnation, the second-hand housing market experienced a surge in sales activity, reaching a new record high. The average home price was NOK 5,112,498. Regionally, Ålesund and Hamar saw the most significant increases in seasonally adjusted prices, rising by 1.9% and 1.1% respectively. Conversely, Tønsberg and Fredrikstad experienced the biggest decreases, with prices falling by 1.5%. The average duration to sell a home decreased to 42 days, down from 47 days in April. Stavanger had the fastest sales, averaging just 16 days, while Tromsø had the slowest, averaging 72 days. On an annual comparison, house prices rose by 5.2%.
