In April 2025, construction output in the Czech Republic experienced a year-on-year increase of 1.9%, a significant deceleration from the revised 12.5% growth recorded the month prior. This slowdown was attributed to reduced expansion in both civil engineering, which increased by 2.3% compared to the previous 12.9%, and building construction, which grew by 1.8% following a 12.4% surge. Additionally, the estimated value of construction projects receiving building permits in April amounted to CZK 1 billion, representing a 9.9% decline from the previous year. During this month, construction began on 2,688 dwellings. On a month-to-month basis, construction activity decreased by 5% in April, after a 3.5% rise in March.
