In April 2025, Slovakia's industrial production experienced a slight decline of 0.4% compared to the same month in the previous year, following a notable 3.5% rise in March, which marked an eight-month peak. This downturn was largely due to a significant deceleration in manufacturing output, which saw a modest increase of only 0.5%, a stark contrast to the previous month's 6% surge. Specific sectors, such as machinery manufacturing (-13.6%), electrical equipment (-12.9%), and rubber and plastics (-5%), were particularly affected. Additionally, output growth in the mining and quarrying sector slowed to 17.8% from 19.6%. Conversely, the decrease in output for electricity, gas, and air-conditioning supply lessened, moving from -15.6% to -9.5%. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial activity dipped slightly, down to 0.5% in April from 0.7% in March.
