FX.co ★ Mongolia Inflation Rate at 6-Month Low

Mongolia's annual inflation rate eased to 8.3% in May 2025, down from 8.6% in April, marking the lowest rate since November 2024. This reduction is primarily attributed to a deceleration in price increases for food and non-alcoholic beverages (now 1.6%, compared to 1.9% in April), clothing and footwear (1.1% down from 1.2%), and restaurants and hotels (0.3%, previously 0.4%). Meanwhile, price hikes remained steady for housing and utilities (2%), furnishings and household equipment (0.3%), as well as recreation and culture (0.1%) and insurance and finance services (0.1%). However, transport saw an inflation rate rise to 0.7%, up from 0.6%. On a month-to-month basis, consumer prices increased by 0.2%, following a 0.3% rise in April.
