Belgium's industrial production experienced a 1.0% decline year-on-year in April 2025, marking the fifth consecutive month of downturn, albeit less severe than the revised 2.0% decrease observed in March. The contraction showed signs of easing in the mining and quarrying sectors, which recorded a decline of 1.0%, compared to a 1.9% drop previously. The manufacturing sector also moderated with a decline of 1.5%, improving from a 2.8% fall. Growth in the electricity and energy supply sector decelerated, rising by 3.6% compared to a 6.2% increase in March. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output slightly increased by 0.2% in April, slowing from a revised 2.0% rise in the preceding month.
