In May 2025, Poland’s annual inflation rate was adjusted slightly downward to 4%, from an initial 4.1% estimate, and a decrease from 4.3% in the prior month. This marks the lowest rate since June 2024. The slowdown is attributed to reduced price increases in sectors such as housing and utilities (10.6% compared to 10.8% in April), health (4.9% down from 5.3%), communication (at 2.8% from 3.5%), recreation and culture (3.4% from 3.6%), restaurants and hotels (5.9% down from 6.1%), and miscellaneous goods and services (2% from 2.2%). Meanwhile, transport costs dropped further, moving to -7.2% from -5.6%. On a monthly scale, consumer prices decreased by 0.2% in May, aligning with preliminary figures, and marking the first monthly decline since September 2023, following a 0.4% increase in April.
