Croatia Producer Prices Highest Since 2023

In May 2025, Croatia experienced a 1.2% increase in producer prices compared to the same month in the previous year. This upturn follows a 0.5% decline in April and represents the most significant rise since September 2023. The increase was primarily fueled by accelerated price growth in capital goods, which rose by 2.5% compared to 2.0% in April, and intermediate goods, which increased by 1.6% versus 1.5% previously. The rate of deflation in the energy sector also lessened, with prices decreasing by only 0.4% compared to a 5.1% drop previously. Conversely, costs for non-durable consumer goods slightly decreased to 2.0% from 2.1%, and prices for durable consumer goods saw a decline of 0.1% after a previous rise of 0.7%. When energy is excluded, producer prices remained steady at 1.8% in May, mirroring the rate from the previous month. On a month-to-month basis, producer prices fell by 1% in May, following a 1.5% decrease in April.
