German Investor Morale Continues to Improve in June

In June 2025, the ZEW Indicator of Economic Sentiment for Germany experienced a significant rise, climbing by 22.3 points to reach 47.5. This marks the highest level since the three-year peak of 51.6 in March and greatly surpasses market expectations of 35. This wave of optimism is fueled by recent increases in investment and consumer demand. The sentiment is bolstered by the belief that fiscal initiatives introduced by the new German government, together with recent interest rate cuts by the European Central Bank (ECB), could herald the conclusion of nearly three years of economic stagnation in Europe's largest economy. Furthermore, the current economic conditions index witnessed a substantial improvement, climbing by 10.0 points to -72.0, marking the most considerable increase in this metric since April 2023.
