In May 2025, Kyrgyzstan's annual inflation rate increased to 8%, up from 7.1% in April, marking the highest level since November 2023. This rise was primarily due to increased costs in food and non-alcoholic beverages, which climbed to 10.1% from April's 8.5%. Similarly, the expenses for housing and utilities rose sharply to 13.8% from 10.8%, and healthcare costs increased to 7.3% from 6.7%. Conversely, there was a moderation in inflation rates for clothing and footwear, which decreased to 2.2% from 2.5%, household goods and appliances, which lessened to 0.5% from 0.7%, and transport, which declined to 2.1% from 2.8%. On a monthly basis, consumer prices saw a rise of 1.1% in May, accelerating from a 0.4% increase in the previous month.
