In May 2025, Turkey experienced a 1.8% decrease in foreign visitors compared to the same month last year, with a total of 5.04 million arrivals, following an 8% increase in April. Among the leading countries of origin, only the United Kingdom and Iran showed increases, with growth of 2.1% and 1%, respectively. Bulgaria suffered the steepest decline at 8.7%, followed by Germany with a 6% drop, and Russia with a 5.2% reduction in visitors. Antalya emerged as the most popular destination, attracting 34.8% of visitors, surpassing Istanbul, which garnered 33.1%. Mugla and Edirne followed with 8.5% and 7%, respectively. Overall, foreign arrivals for the first four months of the year declined by 1% compared to the same period in 2024.
