Luxembourg's current account surplus has expanded significantly, reaching EUR 883 million in the first quarter of 2025, compared to EUR 567 million in the same quarter of the previous year. This marks the fourth consecutive period of surplus, primarily fueled by a rise in the services account surplus, which escalated to EUR 8,248 million from EUR 6,975 million the year before. Furthermore, the deficit in the goods account decreased to EUR 184 million from EUR 266 million, and the secondary income shortfall reduced to EUR 716 million from EUR 900 million. Conversely, the gap in primary income increased, reaching EUR 6,465 million, up from EUR 5,241 million last year.
