In April 2025, the average prices of single-family homes with mortgages backed by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac in the United States experienced a decline of 0.4% from the previous month, contrary to market expectations of a 0.1% rise. Among the nine census divisions, monthly price fluctuations varied, with changes ranging from a 1.3% decrease in the West South Central and South Atlantic divisions to a 1.2% increase in the Middle Atlantic division. On an annual basis, house prices rose by 3% in April, down from a 3.9% increase in the prior month.
