Spain's current account surplus expanded to €1.36 billion in April 2025, compared to €1.01 billion during the same period the previous year. This growth was primarily attributed to an increase in the goods and services surplus, which rose to €5.59 billion from €4.06 billion in April of the preceding year. However, this gain was partially offset by a notable increase in the primary and secondary income deficit, which widened to €4.24 billion from €1.59 billion. Analyzing the first four months of the year, the current account surplus contracted to €8.91 billion, a considerable decrease from €13.01 billion in the same timeframe a year prior.
