In May 2025, retail sales in Chile increased by 4.5% compared to the same period the previous year. This marks an acceleration from a revised growth rate of 3.1% observed in April. The expansion was primarily fueled by a rise in food goods at 4.9%, various consumer goods at 8.7%, and household equipment and technology products at 7.4%. Despite these gains, seasonally adjusted figures show a monthly decline of 1.2% in sales. Cumulatively, retail sales experienced a 4.9% increase over the first five months of the year.
