Ireland's manufacturing sector showed continued improvement in June, as reflected in the AIB Manufacturing PMI rising to 53.7 from 52.6 in May. This marks the highest reading since May 2022 and represents the sixth straight month of growth. This upward trend was fueled by accelerated job creation and new stock building, coupled with steady, if slightly decelerated, growth in both production and new orders. Enhanced operating conditions resulted in the most significant increase in input purchases since April 2022. Business confidence looking forward into the year reached a five-month peak, buoyed by optimism about new business strategies and heightened investment, despite lingering concerns. Nonetheless, sentiment was somewhat cautious, influenced by persistent worries about global economic instability and potential repercussions of US tariffs. Some firms cautioned that these issues might still threaten performance.
