In May 2025, Indonesia experienced a 14.01% increase in foreign tourist arrivals compared to the same month last year, reaching a total of 13.06 million visitors. This follows a 9.15% rise in the preceding month. A significant portion of these arrivals originated from the Middle East, comprising 35.39% of the total, with the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, and Saudi Arabia recording growth rates of 53.17%, 38.05%, and 35.68%, respectively. Additionally, non-ASEAN Asian countries contributed 20.75% to the influx, with remarkable growth figures from Hong Kong at 317.66%, Timor Leste at 36.85%, and the Republic of Korea at 20.45%. ASEAN nations accounted for 17.79% of international visitors, with Brunei showing an 88.59% increase, followed by the Philippines at 19.54% and Malaysia at 19.21%. Cumulatively, the total number of arrivals in the first five months of 2025 reached 5.63 million, marking a 7.44% increase over the same period the previous year. Month-on-month, international visitor numbers rose by 12.15% in May. Concurrently, domestic tourism saw a significant rise, with 97.67 million trips documented in May 2025, reflecting a 17.81% increase compared to May 2024.
