US Factory Activity Rises the Most in 3 Years: S&P Global

The S&P Global US Manufacturing PMI climbed to 52.9 in June 2025, up from 52 in the prior month, surpassing both the preliminary estimate of 52 and initial market predictions of 51. This marks the most robust growth in US factory activity in over three years. Notably, output increased for the first time in four months, achieving the second-fastest growth pace since March of the preceding year. This boost was fueled by a strengthening in new orders, attributed to effective marketing campaigns and a surge in new export orders, which occurred despite existing tariffs. The rising demand for capacity led firms to expand their workforce at the highest rate since September 2022. On the pricing side, input costs rose at their quickest rate in nearly three years, resulting in output charges experiencing their most significant increase since September 2022. Looking ahead, business confidence in future sales is at its highest level in four months.
