Colombia Manufacturing PMI Slips in June

The Davivienda Colombia Manufacturing PMI decreased to 51 in June 2025 from 52.6 in May, indicating the slowest growth in the current three-month expansion trend. Although demand continued to support increases in production and new orders, both experienced slower growth. Companies maintained a positive outlook by enhancing output forecasts for the upcoming year, though job creation has stalled, and purchasing activity has diminished. Employment numbers dropped as temporary contracts lapsed and some positions remained vacant. The levels of input stock remained relatively unchanged, reflecting previous inventory build-up. Inflation in input costs reached a three-month peak due to escalating prices for food, metals, plastics, and rubber, compelling firms to increase output charges at the fastest rate since March 2023. Backlogs increased for a second consecutive month due to new orders and delays in client payments. Business sentiment reached a five-month high, bolstered by expectations of staff training, technological investment, and market expansion.
