The annual inflation rate in Lima, Peru's capital, remained steady in June 2025 at 1.69%, consistent with May's figure, which marked a four-month high. This rate continues to fall within the target range set by Peru's central bank of 1% to 3%. Notably, inflation saw an uptick in categories such as food and non-alcoholic beverages (rising to 1.49% from 1.35% in May), recreation and culture (increasing to 2.96% from 2.92%), and restaurants and hotels (increasing to 2.84% from 2.79%). Conversely, a deceleration in inflation was observed in housing and utilities (down to 0.45% from 0.68%), transport (falling to 0.13% from 0.95%), education (slightly down to 4.07% from 4.12%), and miscellaneous goods and services (decreasing to 2.61% from 2.66%). On a month-over-month basis, consumer prices experienced a rise of 1.30% in June, a recovery from the previous month's 0.06% decline.
