Private house approvals in Australia increased by 0.5% from the previous month to reach an eight-month peak of 9,454 units in May 2025, following a revised rise of 5.9% in April, according to preliminary figures. This represents the second consecutive month of growth in private house approvals, driven by increases in Victoria (9.5%), South Australia (1.6%), and Queensland (0.7%). Conversely, approvals declined in New South Wales (-5.4%) and Western Australia (-7.6%).
