DAX Edges Higher

On Wednesday, Frankfurt's DAX index climbed by 0.3%, slightly surpassing the 27,300 mark, as it sought to rebound following two consecutive days of decline. This movement occurred as investors closely followed trade negotiations in light of the approaching tariff deadline. President Donald Trump of the United States affirmed on Tuesday that he would not agree to extend the deadline for reciprocal tariffs beyond July 9, should a trade agreement fail to be reached by that time. While Trump noted that the United States is nearing the conclusion of a trade deal with India, he expressed doubt about securing an agreement with Japan, citing Tokyo's unfair trade practices. Additionally, attention is focused on Sintra, where European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde is scheduled to deliver a speech later in the day at the central bank's forum in Portugal. In the corporate sector, auto stocks were at the forefront of the gains.
