Eurozone Services Activity Revised to Show Expansion

The HCOB Eurozone Services PMI increased to 50.5 in June 2025, up from 49.7 in the previous month. This figure is an upward revision from the flash estimate of 50 and comfortably exceeds initial market predictions of 50, indicating a modest growth in the region's service activities. During this period, companies managed to clear outstanding work, which compensated for the ongoing decline in new business intake. Despite this, firms continued to expand their workforce, extending this trend for more than four years. In terms of pricing, input costs rose at a slower rate for the third time in four months, yet they remained high by historical standards, prompting companies to increase output charges at the highest rate seen in three months. Looking forward, business outlooks have been improving since the low in April, when the potential imposition of tariffs by the US threatened a significant portion of Eurozone exports.
