In June 2025, average hourly earnings for all employees on U.S. private nonfarm payrolls increased by 8 cents, or 0.2%, reaching $36.30, slightly trailing the projected 0.3% rise and following a 0.4% growth in May. Additionally, the average hourly earnings for private-sector production and nonsupervisory employees went up by 9 cents, or 0.3%, to $31.24. Over the past year, the increase in average hourly earnings was 3.7%, the slowest rate seen in nearly a year, after a previous downward revision to 3.8% in May, and falling short of analysts' predictions of a 3.9% increase.
