US Imports Fall to 7-Month Low

In May 2025, imports of goods and services into the United States fell by 0.1%, reaching a seven-month low of $350.5 billion. The importation of goods specifically decreased by $0.2 billion to $277.7 billion. This decline was largely due to reductions in the import of computer accessories, which fell by $2.8 billion, finished metal shapes by $1.7 billion, textile apparel and household goods by $0.8 billion, and toys, games, and sporting goods by $0.7 billion. Conversely, there were increases in the importation of computers, which rose by $4.4 billion, passenger cars by $3.1 billion, pharmaceutical preparations by $2.5 billion, and nuclear fuel materials by $0.6 billion.
