The Ibovespa index climbed 1.4%, setting a new record high of 140,928 on Thursday, buoyed by strong performances in the financial sector and favorable global and domestic factors. By the end of May, non-resident investors had injected an unprecedented R$21.5 billion into Brazil's B3 stock exchange, offering solid backing for prominent blue-chip and mid-cap stocks. Internationally, the higher-than-anticipated addition of 147,000 jobs in the US nonfarm payrolls, coupled with the newly established US–Vietnam trade agreement, spurred a renewed interest in riskier assets, prompting investors to shift towards equities in emerging markets. Financial giants such as Banco do Brasil, B3, Itaúsa, and Bradesco spearheaded gains ranging from 1.4% to 2.3%. Meanwhile, Petrobras saw a 0.8% rise following the announcement of a R$26 billion investment to integrate its Reduc refinery with the Boaventura complex, enhancing confidence in the sector's future cash flows. In the industrial sphere, Embraer experienced a 3.9% boost after revealing a significant order for 45 aircraft from SAS, highlighting robust demand for aerospace exports.
