In June 2025, Japan's foreign reserves rose by $15.6 billion, reaching a total of $1.314 trillion, the highest since July 2022. The reserve assets are detailed as follows: foreign currency reserves stand at $1.14 trillion, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) reserve position at $11.764 billion, Special Drawing Rights (SDRs) at $60.910 billion, gold accounts for $89.416 billion, and other reserve assets are valued at $16.419 billion. The Ministry of Finance in Japan had previously announced that no foreign exchange interventions were carried out from January to March 2025.
