In May 2025, Denmark's manufacturing output experienced a modest increase of 0.1% compared to the previous month, marking a slowdown from April's 2% growth. This deceleration was primarily due to a more significant drop in the production of basic metals and fabricated metal products, which fell by 9.4% compared to a 4% decline previously. Additionally, output decreased for electrical equipment, moving from an 11.6% increase to a 2.1% contraction, and for transport equipment, which dropped by 4.5% following a 3.3% growth in the month before. Conversely, pharmaceuticals saw a robust recovery, with production rising by 11.1% after a 4.9% decline, and the furniture and other manufacturing sectors rebounded by 2.7% compared to a slight 0.1% decrease. On a seasonally adjusted annual basis, manufacturing output decreased by 6.2%, following a downwardly revised decline of 13.8% in the previous period.
