Seychelles CPI Edges Up in June

In June 2025, Seychelles experienced a 0.48% increase in consumer prices, marking the most significant inflation rise since January. This was an acceleration from the previous month's 0.40% increase. The primary contributors to this uptick were higher prices for food items excluding fresh fish, which climbed by 2.34% compared to May's 2.24%. Non-food products saw a rise of 0.28%, up from 0.21% previously, while health-related costs increased by 4.43%, slightly more than May's 4.25%. Prices for furniture and household equipment grew by 0.94%, compared to 0.87% in May, and miscellaneous items saw a rise to 0.53% from 0.27%. Clothing and footwear costs remained stable at 1.73%. Conversely, prices for tobacco products decreased slightly to 0.22% from 0.30%, and housing utilities experienced a modest decline to 1.62% from 1.65%. On a monthly basis, there was a slight reduction in consumer prices by 0.07%, following a 0.14% decrease in the previous month.
