In June 2025, Mexico experienced a 4.9% increase in car production compared to the same month the previous year, reaching a total of 361,047 units. This marks a recovery from the 2% decline observed in May, indicating the industry's robustness despite ongoing uncertainties surrounding U.S. trade policies. This resilience is bolstered by the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and the strong regional integration of the sector. Among the leading automotive manufacturers, Toyota saw the most significant growth, with production rising 24.7% to 27,108 units. KIA followed closely with a 24.3% increase to 25,970 units, and Volkswagen experienced a 10.1% rise, totaling 36,271 units. Ford's production grew by 5.4% to reach 40,458 units, while General Motors and Stellantis expanded their outputs by 4.3% to 73,609 units and 3.8% to 37,505 units, respectively. Conversely, Mazda, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, and Nissan experienced production declines, with decreases of 19.0% to 12,508 units, 11.8% to 14,110 units, 7.9% to 5,147 units, 6.4% to 15,180 units, and 2.2% to 59,112 units, respectively. Overall, in the first half of 2025, the total vehicle production in Mexico saw a modest increase of 0.5%, amounting to 2.01 million units.
