Mexico Auto Exports Rebound in June

In June 2025, Mexico reported a significant 14% increase in car exports compared to the same period in the previous year, totaling 331,517 units. This growth follows a 2.9% decline observed in May. General Motors led the surge with a remarkable increase of 56.4%, followed by Nissan with a 27.1% rise and KIA with a 20.7% improvement. Additional noteworthy contributors to this upward trend included BMW, which increased by 15.5%, Toyota by 15%, Mercedes-Benz by 14.5%, Volkswagen by 9.5%, and Ford by 9.2%. Conversely, exports from other manufacturers experienced declines, with Honda dropping by 23.9%, Stellantis by 23.2%, Mazda by 20.2%, and Audi by 6.5%. Despite the positive turnaround seen in June, overall exports in the first half of 2025 decreased by 2.8%, bringing the total to 1.67 million units. The United States continued to be a dominant market, accounting for 79.7% of the total exports.
