Lithuania experienced an increase in its annual inflation rate, rising to 3.7% in June 2025, following a decline to a five-month low of 3.4% in May. This rise was largely attributed to climbing prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, which saw an increase from May, reaching 5.1% compared to the previous 4.4%. Additionally, costs in the communications sector rose to 2.2% from 1.7%, and in recreation and culture, they increased to 5.1% from 3.9%. Meanwhile, the reduction in prices for clothing and footwear slowed, with a decline of 1.4% as opposed to the 2% drop observed previously. In contrast, inflation showed signs of easing in several areas: alcoholic beverages and tobacco saw a decrease to 7.7% from 8%, housing and utilities dropped to 1.6% from 2.5%, and miscellaneous goods and services decreased to 2.3% from 3.9%. On a monthly scale, consumer prices increased by 0.3% in June, recovering from a 0.3% reduction in the prior period.
